One AED, in the right place at the right moment, can be the difference between life and death.

As an authorized Mindray AED distributor in Malaysia, that belief drives everything we do at MedikHub — and it's why we're proud to be part of Yong Peng's public safety journey. We're adding four new Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) across the community, giving more people access to immediate, life-saving intervention when sudden cardiac arrest strikes.

Where the 4 new AEDs are going

The units are being installed at four high-footfall locations that sit at the heart of everyday community life in Yong Peng:

  • St. Stephen's Church, Yong Peng

  • Yong Peng Tian Bao Temple (天保宫)

  • Yong Peng Grand Mosque

  • A main-street coffee shop in Sin Kang (新港) — the very first AED in Sin Kang

All four AEDs are expected to be fully installed within a week. Placing defibrillators across churches, temples, mosques, and a busy local eatery reflects something we care deeply about: cardiac emergencies don't discriminate, so community readiness shouldn't either. These are exactly the kind of religious venues and community gathering points where a rapid-response device belongs.

More than hardware: free training for every location

An AED saves lives only when people are confident enough to use it. So alongside each installation, MedikHub is providing the receiving organisations with hands-on CPR and AED training, covering:

  • Correct AED operation — how to power on, apply pads, and follow the device's prompts

  • CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) technique for adults

  • Emergency response fundamentals — recognising cardiac arrest and acting in the first critical minutes

The goal is simple: when seconds matter, the people already on-site know exactly what to do.

Why AEDs matter so much

Sudden cardiac arrest almost always strikes without warning. When it does, the clock becomes the enemy.

For every one minute of delay in delivering a defibrillation shock, a victim's chance of survival drops by an estimated 7–10%. Ambulances, even at their fastest, usually take several minutes to arrive — and in a cardiac arrest, several minutes is often the entire window between survival and loss.

This is why the most effective community safety strategy isn't waiting for emergency services alone. It's a two-part approach:

  1. Place AEDs where crowds gather — so a device is always within reach.

  2. Equip ordinary people with first-aid knowledge — so someone nearby can act immediately.

Together, these dramatically raise the odds of survival before professional help arrives. A modern, easy-to-use unit like the Mindray BeneHeart AED is designed for exactly this — clear voice and visual guidance that walks any bystander through a rescue, even with no medical background.

Protecting the people who gather here

The four chosen locations are places where residential communities, elderly residents, worshippers, and visitors come together every single day. Temples, mosques, and churches often host large gatherings; a busy coffee shop in Sin Kang draws a steady flow of locals and passers-by — the kind of tourism hotspots and everyday spaces where an emergency can happen at any time.

An AED in each of these places is more than a device on the wall. It's a standing commitment to the people who pass through.

And Sin Kang receiving its first-ever AED is a genuine milestone — one more node added to a growing community emergency-response network across Yong Peng and the wider Batu Pahat district.

Thank you to our sponsors

None of this happens without generosity. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the sponsors whose contributions and goodwill made these four installations possible.

Because of your kindness, Yong Peng now has a little more protection — and a lot more hope.

Building a safer Malaysia, together

Every AED placed, every person trained, and every community that prepares moves us closer to a Malaysia where a cardiac emergency doesn't have to end in tragedy. Let's keep going:

  • Raise first-aid and CPR awareness

  • Expand AED coverage in public spaces

  • Protect every precious life
